Taking planet-friendly actions made fun and easy!

Interested in an easy and innovative way of tackling climate change? Here is a mobile app, i4ThePlanet, the one place where you can find everything you need to start doing your part to help create a cleaner environment.

The app was developed by a psychologist/environmentalist in response to a real, pressing need.  Major recent studies show that today, millions of North Americans have not changed any of their behaviours to protect the environment because they don’t know where to start.  All this while climate change is seen as the top concern today!

GentleWays for OurPlanet’s mission is to make it easy for people to “start” their GHG reduction journey, and to shift towards sustainable living.   The i4ThePlanet, (eye for the planet), launched recently, enables individuals to take urgently needed planet-friendly action every day.  It’s free, fun to use and without ads or any pressure whatsoever to buy or consume “stuff”.

The i4ThePlanet supports true sustainable living under six lifestyle areas: Food, Fashion/Electronics, Materials, Travel/Energy, Wellness and Leadership. Here is how it works:

  1. From a complete catalogue of planet friendly actions, select the ones you’ve completed everyday
  2. Earn stars and other awards (no monetary value)
  3. “Redeem” your stars to plant real trees. During this stage, the app will redirect you to two trusted external organizations where you can contribute the very small price of a tree ($1 at One Tree Planted and $1.75 at Ecology Ottawa). These organizations can have trees planted at this very low price thanks to the help of many volunteers and donations.
We are currently supporting tree planting projects in in and around Ottawa, Canada

The app is loaded with other engaging features such as a calendar with major upcoming environmental events! Download it and share it with your friends to help spread the word. Be an “eye” for the Planet and let’s become millions of eyes for the love of our only Home…
